Vaping Associated with Risk of Sight Loss
According to a new study in the American Journal of Ophthalmology, it has underlined a connection between vaping and the risk of developing visual impairment.
Researchers examined the data of over 1 million US adults aged 18 and older who were asked questions about the severity of their vision even when wearing glasses. The group were also questioned about whether they were former or current users of e-cigarettes or had never used the device.
The results show that those who currently use the vaping device have a 34% higher risk of being visually impaired when evaluated to those who had never tried e-cigarettes. Those who previously used e-cigarettes had a 14% higher risk of visual impairment than those who had never vaped.
