GlobalData Report Shows AI's Increasing Importance in Eye Care and Healthcare

According to a report by analytics company GlobalData, artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly crucial in the field of eye care and is already improving various aspects of healthcare.

Medical analyst Alexandra Murdoch from GlobalData has stated that AI has vast potential in healthcare and companies are starting to understand where to invest their resources. The application of AI in ophthalmology is significant and could revolutionize the field in many ways.

The report highlighted Verena Health's Qdata Geographic Atrophy, which provided data on 350,000 de-identified geographic atrophy patients and enabled the identification of diagnoses from records.

GlobalData has predicted that the AI market could be worth $383.3bn in 2030 (approximately £308bn) , up from $81.3bn in 2022, (approximately £66bn)
